CIRCLE K DEALS AT THE PUMPS! - AUG. 7, 2019

From WDTV in Morgantown, West Virginia:

"[Dian] Phillips and [Abby] Spiker were among the dozens of people who lined up at the Circle K gas station on Grafton Road. The reason was to get gas for nearly 50 cents cheaper.

"They should have it about every day like this! Other than just one day," said another customer, David D. Shrout.

Select Circle K locations in Monongalia County are dropping their gas price to $1.99 for two hours. An opportunity for many people to save, save, save!

5 News: "How much money do you think it's going to save you today?"

"Oh, probably $20 or something like that," said Shrout.

As many who waited in line Wednesday said, every little penny helps.

"For gas being that cheap, I just had to take advantage of it and I hope a lot of other people do to," said Spiker.

When the clock struck 1, the gas price dropped from $2.46 to $1.99 a rare sight these days.

"It's cheap! Cheaper than what it has been," said Phillips.

In just under 20 minutes cars packed into the lot waiting for their turn to hit the pump. Several people, so enamored by it all, even brought gas cans to fill and take home with them.

"[I'm filling] two 5 gallon cans and my truck," said Phillips.

One man, who was first in line, camped out at the gas station for two hours before it started. Some, even on empty to take full advantage.

5 News: "Are you on E right now?"

"Very close! I'm surprised I actually made it here to be honest," said Spiker.

Some people can even save an extra 6 cents with a Miles card. Will this happen again? A question many people would like to see answered as a yes.

"Maybe months down the road they'll do it again because it helps a lot of people out."
