 Today, January 10, 2024, marks a new era of expansion for Publix Super Markets, as their first store in Kentucky is now open! The company initially announced plans for the 55,702-square-foot store on September 7, 2021 and groundbreaking was held on June 23, 2022. It is Kentucky's first of the 55M store models and is the second 55M in the chain after store 1808 in Tampa, which opened on March 2, 2023. The new store like the one in Tampa takes certain elements from their GreenWise Markets, such as having an expanded selection of prepared foods, a popcorn station, and an on-site bar that is called POURS. It also features an upstairs seating area with elevator and stair access. The new Kentucky store is Publix's first major expansion since the opening of store 1566 in Glen Allen, Virginia on July 15, 2017. Publix #1846 is located at 2500 Terra Crossing Boulevard in Louisville.

 Publix PIX (pronounced "picks") was a convenience store owned by Publix Super Markets from 2001 to 2013. Circle K purchased 12 out of 14 PIX locations in Florida and Georgia. The Tennessee location was sold to a family-owned company. Former PIX locations featured 4 to 12 gas pumps and a 1,200 square foot convenience store or cashier station. The first location was on Lakeland Highlands Road. The larger 4,000 square foot PIX locations are currently operating as Circle K's in Poinciana and Deltona. ARCO gas stations are now in Florida? Normally, the brand (a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum) is commonly found in western states (such as Nevada or California), but this is my first time finding one in my home state! This was a Speedway gas station prior to 2021. And the ARCO coexists with a Marathon gas station (former BP) on the other side! ARCO #540120 is located at 12877 US 92, Dover, FL 33527.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Famous gas station chain Buc-ee's is coming to Florida. Executives from the Texas-based chain were joined by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to break ground on what has been dubbed as way more than a gas station. It's not like they're just selling gas and potato chips," said Gov. DeSantis. The gas station and convenience store, which is praised for their food, clean bathrooms, and friendliness, will reportedly make their Daytona debut in early 2021 at the corner of Interstate 95 and LPGA Boulevard.  "It's equal parts convenience store, fresh fruit, deli and bakery, barbecue joint, sporting goods store, and local boutique with the friendliest service," said Gov.
